Statistics show that there are around 407 million users, approximately 33,942,100 domains, 25,675,450 websites and over one billion pages. It only means that sea full of information is being done everyday on the internet. We all know that the universe is full of stars and as the theme of my blog is and to find that one star one needs to be an expert astronomer. SEO exactly does the same and gives you the required strenght to find your stars, namely potential customers.

SEO Content

So lets start with Content first, content plays a very important role as far as Search Engine Optimization is concerned. It is very important to have search friendly content to attract visitors to your website. Well written content is important for three main reasons:

Engages the Reader

Increases search engine rankings and traffic

Promotes the likelihood of quality links from other sites

We see well established companies make the mistake often on product pages. It is not enough to post quality photos a small blurb, and the pricing. In order for your intended audience to find your products and read your page versus your competitors. You need every page of your site to be focused on providing detailed, useful information that a customer would search for in the process of making a purchase/ conversion decision.

Engage the Reader:

Traditional marketers and copywriters frequently criticize search engine optimization companies for focusing so intently upon keyword research and placement within the text that they sacrifice the art of engaging content. It is a delicate balance at times, but the ultimate goal with every written page is to entertain, inform and entice the reader.

All the top search engine rankings in the world cannot make up for a page so hideous that no one stops to read or continues visiting the site. Whether you are building your site from the ground up, redesigning or honing your sites copy, your words are what inform each visitor and help them decide to convert whether that means completing a sale, downloading a screen saver or a ring tone, or completing a contact form or a news letter request.

Increase Search Engine Traffic:

Each of the big 3 ( Google, Yahoo, MSN ) use a different method and technology to arrive at any given websites ranking under specific search terms. Each one has a different algorithm one can test different strategies and methods to see how they impact your rank. What is the one thing that the search engines can’t change about their mathematical algorithm? You Got It! CONTENT!

So the best way to increase your ranking for a particular search term is to provide meaningful information or content basd features to fully explain the problem and ed on that search term.

Here are few tips:

1. Make sure you focus on the subject matter

2. Get inside the searcher’s head and figure out what they want and give it to them

3. Be specific and provide details, don’t generalize and be too desriptive

4. For a Sales page use benefits and features to fully explain the problem and the solution

5. Update your information often and setup to update and add more content regularly

Link building:

It is a well know fact that quality links to your website are one of the most influential factors in determining search engine rank. The search engine knows to rank any of your pages as extremely important if many authoritative pages externally ( and within your site) link to it. Quality content affects the quality and amount of inbound links. With the rise of social media sites including Digg, Reddit, Del.icio.us and Ma.gnolia you site content is more important than ever. Readers have the power to submit excerpts of your copy to these sites with link back to your page for all to see. This is especially powerful for companies with the foresight to regularly produce articles, blogs and press releases. This fresh content not only contributes to the optimization of your site, it also provides opportunities for exposure to potentially millions of readers on various social media sites. Some companies plan entire campaigns around the bursts of traffic received from social media links.

Keyword Research:

Keyword and key phrases are the most important aspects of SEO initiative. You may have put efforts on fine tuning your web pages for a better ranking with the major search engines yet it becomes not enough if the right keyword phrases are not targeted. Keyword research at the beginning of any copy writing endeavor for the web is a must. One must know what words and phrases the intended readers are searching with, craft well written copy for each page. If the terminology is relevant and the style is easy to follow, you have achieved the most important, yet often overlooked foundational task of organic search optimization and marketing.
